MJ Kamson-Kamara will spend the 2024/25 season on loan at National League North side Peterborough Sports.

The 18-year-old will continue his development with the step 2 club having signed his first professional contract with the Imps in February 2023.

It will be the centre-back’s second loan spell having gained valuable experience of senior men’s football at Barwell in step 3 during the 23/24 campaign. He will remain eligible for City’s games in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy against Grimsby, Chesterfield and Manchester City Under 21s.

City’s head coach Michael Skubala said: “MJ has come back this summer in really good shape, impressed us with his physical output and has really excelled in our pre-season fixtures against, among others, Championship opponents.

“This loan allows MJ to continue training full-time with us, which we think is so important for his continued development and provides him with a programme of really competitive senior football in the National League North. The competition rules also enable us to select MJ for the Bristol Street Motors Trophy fixtures, so that is a great incentive for him in the early part of the season.”

The defender started playing for Bromley up to Under 16 level, where a stand-out performance against Dover in the Kent Mertit Under 16 Boys Cup saw him announced as a future Lincoln City scholar. Whilst the route to the first team is long and arduous, it is another example of our youth recruitment reaching out beyond the confines of the city.

He isn’t the first player to join Peterborough Sports on loan – former Imps Elicha Ahui and Hayden Cann also had spells there, as did midfield prospect Oisin Gallagher.
