“Have you done your fantasy league this week? I’ve tripled captained Haaland.”
Yeah, that’s great mate, but I don’t know my Nicolas Jackson from Michael Jackson and (true story this) I had to Google Marc Guehi for England’s first Euros game. Me playing Premier League Fantasy Football has about as much point to it as me playing tennis with Andy Murray using a pool cue and wearing clown shoes (me, not Murray).
Then, out of nowhere, my dreams come true. Fantasy EFL is here! Of course, you probably already know that by now, but it’s a huge thing for me. I was doing a form of fantasy football long before Baddiel and Skinner did it on the telly. Once, I finished third in the McKechnie Plastics league (back when you could only make two transfers a season) and a couple of years ago, my last foray into the PL fantasy league, I finished fifth in a league with about 200 people in, purely by waiting to the last minute and copying what others were doing. Happy days.
Now, I can finally see my so-called expertise completely crash and burn with an EFL product, and Stacey West readers can join in the fun! Fantasy EFL looks great – just seven players to pick, a fresh team each week and the chance to pick the one team you think will do best. However, you’re limited to a set number of times you can pick a team per season. It’s all very exciting.
We’ll be doing updates, and if you’re a Patreon, there’s even a channel in our Discord for those wishing to indulge in what the kids of today call ‘banter’.
There are details below of the website you need to set up your team, and then SW league. You’ll need the code as well – 1OJ8WFT6
