This weekend saw us get a degree of revenge against Crawley.
After losing there in the league, we smashed four in the FA Cup to progress to the Third Round. That means we are in the draw this evening, and perhaps feel a little better about Rob Elliott’s side.
We also have a great chance for a little revenge over Wrexham. They beat us 1-0 at their place last weekend in a game even the staunchest of Red Dragons fans would admit they were lucky to win. Next week, we’re getting a chance to right that wrong, and again it is in an FA Cup game, albeit a youth cup game.
The Imps U18s beat a strong Bolton side last week to secure their place in the third round, and their counterparts from Wrexham will be the opposition. The highly anticipated game has now been set for Wednesday, 11 December, at the LNER Stadium, kicking off at 7pm.
Playing on the Sincil Bank turf under the lights will be a huge event for the young Imps, but adding an extra touch of excitement, the match will be featured in the Disney+ documentary series Welcome to Wrexham. It has followed not only the first team but also Wrexham’s youth team in the FA Youth Cup. That means not only do our youngsters get a chance for revenge over the Red Dragons, but they could do so under the lights at the Bank.
Tickets for the game should be available now. They are priced at just £5 for adults £2 for concessions, and the early kick-off means it shouldn’t be too late for your kiddywinks to get home and go to bed on a school night. We’ve got some real talent in the youth team, with Denny Oliver and Zane Okoro featuring in the first-team squad and Dakara Wifa scoring goals for fun.
It could be a great evening for the youngsters, so if you’ve got nothing better to do (the celebrity jungle thing doesn’t count), why not head down to the Bank?
