Sheffield Wednesday loanee Bailey Cadamarteri faces an extended spell on the sidelines, with reports indicating that his groin injury is more serious than initially believed.
The 19-year-old had recently returned to Sincil Bank after a previous setback, appearing against Crawely, but has now missed two games in a row, sparking concern about his ability to feature again this season.
The talented forward had been in decent form for City, notching eight goals before injury disrupted his momentum. Now, with just a handful of games left in the League One campaign, his chances of returning before May are looking increasingly slim.
From Optimism to Frustration
After undergoing rehabilitation at Sheffield Wednesday’s training base, Cadamarteri was expected to be back in action sooner rather than later. Michael Skubala had initially provided a hopeful update following his side’s win over Bristol Rovers, but the latest assessment suggests the striker may be facing several weeks on the sidelines.

However, for the Imps, the impact is negligible. With a shift in formation seeing us play one up top, James Collins is almost certainly our first choice, with Ben House and Freddie Draper also competent forwards. Jovon Makama has shifted out wide, and with 17 goal involvements all season, he is certainly another threat up top. Unlike previous loan player injuries, this one might not be as much of a problem as it first seems.
