I recently had to put together a list of some of the best managerial rivalries of the 21st century, and obviously, my tunnel vision could only see Imps-related ones.
With that in mind, I figured I’d do a top five managerial rivalries involving Lincoln City managers. I did have a stipulation – I only wanted one per manager. It would be easy to pick two or three with Keith (Ian Atkins and Andy Preece spring to mind), and Danny had a couple as well (Garry Hill and Steve Evans don’t make the list).
I asked my Patrons, and Malcolm, our history man, and we’ve come up with five big rivalries. What has surprised (nay, absolutely shocked us) is that one of the most belligerent managers from history, John Beck, didn’t seem to have any serious issues with any other manager!
