City are in EFL Trophy action tonight, and anything other than a defeat will mean we top the group.
Whatever happens, we’ll be in the hat for the next round. The draw for the Round of 32 will take place live on Sky Sports News at 2.30 pm on Thursday, 13th November, hosted by Will Perry alongside former Ipswich Town captain Luke Chambers and ex-Jamaican international Jobi McAnuff.
If we win the group, City will be drawn at home to a side who finished second in a different group, with the competition remaining regionalised for this stage. The full list of ball numbers and further draw details will be released on EFL channels on Wednesday, 12th November, following the conclusion of the group stage.
Ties in the Round of 32 are scheduled to take place during the week commencing 1st December. With a blank weekend in the FA Cup, we’d likely put out a stronger side, whatever. It will also be sandwiched between two home matches, Port Vale and Barnsley.

Who Has Qualified So Far
In the Northern section, the confirmed qualifiers include us, Bolton Wanderers, Rotherham United, Huddersfield Town, Harrogate Town, Port Vale, Fleetwood Town, Blackpool, Tranmere Rovers, Bradford City and Doncaster Rovers. Barnsley only have to avoid us scoring seven to also be in the hat, and a win for them, 2-0 or more, could see them top the group, not us.
Over in the Southern section, group winners confirmed so far are Stevenage, Leyton Orient and Luton Town, with Cambridge United, Plymouth Argyle, Bristol Rovers, Northampton Town, West Ham United U21, and Colchester United also progressing.
Among the other Under-21 sides, only Wolves and Arsenal can still join West Ham United U21 in the knockout rounds.
