Former Lincoln City winger Jordon Garrick has been released by St Patrick’s Atheltic as they look to put a fresh squad together for next season.

St Pat’s announced his departure on social media yesterday, along with a handful of other players. The Saints finished fifth out of ten in last season’s League of Ireland, and are trimming their squad in readiness for a new season, for which the fixtures are announced this week.

Garrick got a single goal and an assist in his eight league and cup matches for the Richmond Park outfit, and was signed as cover for another former Imp, Zack Elbouzedi. He had five goal involvements in 29 outings, and appeared in their Conference League qualification campaign against Nõmme Kalju and Hegelmann Litauen in July. I promise I haven’t made those teams up. Sadly, he was ruled out for the season at the end of July with a shoulder injury.

Garrick began his senior career with Swansea City after time at Ossett Albion and in Swansea’s academy. He joined Swindon Town on loan for the second half of the 2020–21 season, making 19 League One appearances and scoring twice. He spent 2021–22 on loan at Plymouth Argyle, where he featured regularly across league, cups and the EFL Trophy, totalling 50 appearances and seven goals.

He moved to City on a season-long loan in August 2022. At the time, it was a switch with another Swansea player, Morgan Whittaker. We had Whittaker the season before, and Plymouth had Garrick. They took Whittaker, and Jordon came to us. I remember some fans saying we’d got a great deal. We hadn’t.

He went on to make 16 appearances in all competitions for the Imps, 11 of them in League One, with his only goal coming in the EFL Cup against Barrow. His impact was limited, and he slipped out of favour quickly, prompting Swansea City to recall him in January 2023. On the same day, he completed a permanent move to Forest Green Rovers on an 18-month deal, linking up with Jamie Robson, another former City player who had also moved on that summer.

He found more traction at Forest Green, scoring five goals in 21 League One appearances during their relegation campaign, before adding a further eight League Two outings and two goals in 2023–24. A brief non-contract spell with Oldham Athletic followed in October 2024, but he returned to Forest Green two months later and contributed four goals from 21 appearances during the 2024–25 season, departing the club at the end of the campaign.
