Huddersfield Town Add Experience With Jak Alnwick Signing
Huddersfield Town have completed the signing of goalkeeper Jak Alnwick from Cardiff City, with the former Newcastle United stopper penning an 18-month deal at the John Smith’s Stadium, according to Examiner Live.
The 32-year-old becomes Town’s first addition of the January window following the return of Owen Goodman to parent club Crystal Palace, giving Lee Grant added depth in the goalkeeping department.
Alnwick arrives with significant experience in the EFL, having previously represented Port Vale and Rangers, and will provide cover and competition for Lee Nicholls alongside Jacob Chapman.
Grant described the deal as an important piece of business completed early, stressing the need for a different goalkeeper profile after Goodman’s departure and highlighting Alnwick’s familiarity with the division as a key factor in the move.
