League One Latest: Mansfield Town Boss Blasts Ridiculous Defeat, Jon Brady Lays Into Unacceptable Port Vale

Stadium Ban Issued After Racist Abuse

A man who sent a racist message to Luton Town striker Elijah Adebayo has been banned from every stadium in England and Wales for four years.

Connor Butler, 20, sent an abusive Instagram message to Adebayo after the forward scored against Sunderland in October 2024. He admitted the offence and was fined £200 before receiving the nationwide banning order.

Chief Superintendent Mark Hall said:

“Racist and hateful speech has absolutely no place in our communities or online… it will not be tolerated and we will do all we can to put perpetrators before the courts.”

Luton Town also praised Adebayo for reporting the abuse, stating they “stand with Elijah and all victims of discrimination”.

While not directly impacting League One’s table, it is another reminder of the responsibility that comes with the modern game. The vast majority of supporters travel, sing and support properly. Those who cross the line increasingly face real consequences.
