Lincoln City head coach Michael Skubala has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month award for January, while Jack Moylan has been nominated for the Player of the Month.

The Imps carried their unbeaten run into the new year, collecting 14 points from six games without defeat. That run included emphatic three-goal victories at the Bank against Peterborough United and Bradford City, as City continued to apply pressure at the top end of the table.

Skubala is up against a strong shortlist. Gary Caldwell earns recognition after steering Exeter City away from relegation danger. Exeter started January level on points with the bottom four and faced a testing schedule, but 11 points from six matches lifted them into mid-table, built on foundations laid despite ongoing financial constraints.

At Stockport County, Dave Challinor is shortlisted after overseeing a consistent month that delivered 14 points from seven games. County repeatedly found ways to win tight contests, with three victories secured in the final 15 minutes, while new January additions were successfully integrated into the side.

The final nominee is Liam Manning of Huddersfield Town, who made an immediate impact after taking charge. Huddersfield won all three of their league games in January, including notable victories over Bradford and Luton Town, their first wins against promotion rivals this season. Both successes came despite being reduced to ten men.

The winner will be announced on Friday 13 February 2026.

Jack Moylan also shortlisted

Moylan has also been recognised for his key role this month, but let’s be honest, it could have been three or four of our players.

Moylan played a key role in an unbeaten month for City, scoring four goals, including decisive winners against Burton Albion and Wigan Athletic.

He is joined on the shortlist by Dom Ballard of Leyton Orient, who scored five of Orient’s six January goals, including a perfect hat-trick in a 3-1 win over Reading.

Also nominated is Brendan Galloway of Plymouth Argyle. Having scored just twice in 86 previous league appearances, Galloway matched that tally in January alone, while also contributing to three clean sheets.

Completing the shortlist is Kyle Wootton, whose five January goals for Stockport were the reward for his all-round forward play, with four of those strikes putting County ahead in matches.
