Record Number Of Season Tickets Shifted in 24 Hours As Fans Back Lincoln City

Lincoln City fans are backing the team in numbers – with record first-day sales of Gold Memberships for 2026/27.

There were 500 Gold Memberships sold on the opening day of window one; this is almost 200 more than the first day last year, and City had passed the 600 mark within 24 hours of going on sale. We’re not saying we’re helping but I’m led to believe there may have been a bit of an uplift after we mentioned it on the podcast last night. It almost certainly was us, but I’m not saying that…..

You’re welcome, Imps!

The fact is that every current Gold Membership holder has their seat guaranteed so long as they renew before the end of window one – Thursday 2 April. That’s a big window of opportunity, so for so many fans to commit so early shows the belief behind the current regime. Will we be hosting Bromley or Birmingham next season? Wolves or Salford City? It’s mad, isn’t it, when you could be playing either a current League Two side or a current Premier League side next season.

New member uptake soon to reach capacity

Here’s some big news – I’m told that new ticket applications have already accounted for half the allocation. The club have allocated a certain number of seats for new tickets, and because new faces can buy tickets during this window, they’re seeing those fresh seats fly off the shelf, so to speak.

I understand that over half of the new ticket allocationhas gone already, meaning we’re attracting renewals and new faces. There is a rush here – if that allocation sells out, new ticket purchases will have to go off sale until the renewal window ends, and will only go back on sale when renewals are up, and the club know if anyone hasn’t got their ticket.

That’s pretty impressive. Seems the Imps’ bug is catching.

Feelgood factor

The feel-good factor is strong at the Imps at the moment, with 15 matches unbeaten behind us. That’s just four games shy of the 19-game unbeaten run we put together when winning League Two back in 2018/19.

That has led to a huge push for tickets, home and away. The recent game against Bolton sold out quickly, and the entire 1,698 allocation for this Saturday’s trip to Mansfield Town also went quickly. With a big game against the league leaders coming up, fans are buying in – more than 1,000 tickets sold for next month’s eagerly anticipated trip to Wales inside 24 hours.

Away travel isn’t easy, but as we push towards the Championship, fans want to be a part of that and perhaps make a few more sacrifices.

“Imps fans have really played their part in making this a memorable season so far, and they’re continuing to really get behind the club,” said head of Club Services Rob Noble.

“This kind of backing gives a boost to Michael and the players on the pitch, and gives us a great platform to plan for the summer and beyond.

“We’ve seen a number of people buy Gold Memberships for the first time, upgrading from Silver or Bronze packages, and we’re all pleased to see these fans able to commit. More than a quarter of our day one sales went to new purchases, so for anyone considering upgrading we’d recommend doing so as soon as possible. With almost 6,000 25/26 Gold members, there is only a limited number of new seats available for the 26/27 season.”

Financially, it isn’t always easy to follow the Imps – £24 for Cardiff, more for Mansfield (I forget how much), £445 for a season ticket, and that’s just one person. For a family of three or four, it is a huge outlay.

With that in mind, these early sales are terrific, but don’t panic. If you’re waiting until February pay day, or even March, your seat is safe.
