Referee: Tom Reeves
Assistant Referees: Marvyn Amphlett, Samuel Fudge
Fourth Official: James Durkin
Tom Reeves will be the man in the middle for this fixture, an official Lincoln City have encountered on a handful of occasions in recent seasons.
City’s most recent meeting with Reeves came last season, when the Imps travelled to Peterborough United. That game finished 1-1, with Reeves issuing a single yellow card to a City player across the 90 minutes in what proved to be a relatively controlled contest.
Before that, Reeves oversaw our trip to Fleetwood Town in October 2023, a match City won 1-0. Lee Johnson moaned about the officials (of course he did), claiming Alex Mitchell was offside. Toto Nsiala was sent off late on as well.
The League One meeting with Bristol Rovers in 2023 was controversial. Reeves sent off Ryan Loft in the 42nd minute for an elbow on Carl Rushworth, but then failed to spot Lewis Montsma elbowing James Connolly, something he got a retrospective ban for.
The earliest of the recent meetings came during the 2021/22 season, when Reeves took charge of City’s trip to Ipswich Town in March 2022. The hosts ran out 2-0 winners.
This season, Reeves has bounced between the Championship and the National League. His most recent game was Wrexham and Portsmouth, but earlier in the campaign, he also officiated Forest Green and Rochdale.
He does let the game flow. In seven matches, the number of fouls per game he awards is 22.14, which leaves him 29/65 in League One. He is 19th for fouls per tackle, a little higher than you might expect, but 55th for yellow cards per game, which suggests he is not one to flash the cards.
