League One Latest: Job To Go At Plymouth Argyle, Manchester United Youngster Backed

Bradford City message for Ethan Wheatley after slow start

Bradford City skipper Antoni Sarcevic has backed Manchester United loanee Ethan Wheatley to come good despite the young striker still waiting for his first goal since arriving at Valley Parade.

Wheatley joined Bradford during the January window after being recalled from Northampton Town, where he had been a regular under Kevin Nolan. He has now made seven appearances for the Bantams, including the weekend win over Leyton Orient, but is yet to open his account.

Despite that, Sarcevic has made it clear the forward is still offering plenty to the side. Bradford remain firmly in the promotion picture, sitting fourth in the table, and the experienced midfielder believes the goals will follow if Wheatley continues to work as he has been.

“Ethan’s a young lad who is finding his feet in the EFL.

“I still think Ethan is doing brilliantly for us. I know he’ll pride himself on goals but I think what he gives to us is really good.

“The goals will come if he keeps going.”

From a Lincoln point of view, any club in the chasing pack finding rhythm is worth noting, and Bradford remain one of those sides capable of hanging around if they keep picking up results.
