Former Lincoln City academy goalkeeper Isaac Allan has joined Hebburn Town on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old stopper, who left Sincil Bank to sign for Sunderland last summer, continues his development in non-league football after earlier spells away from the Black Cats this campaign.
Hebburn confirmed the temporary arrival of the young goalkeeper last week, bringing him in from Sunderland for the remainder of the season as they strengthen their options between the posts.
Allan’s move comes after a season in which he has already experienced several different environments while gaining senior minutes. Earlier in the campaign, the teenage keeper spent time on loan with Morpeth Town before a short spell at Whitby Town, where he made three appearances as he continued to build experience in the Northern Premier League.
Interestingly, Allan has already faced Hebburn twice this season while playing for opposition sides, giving his new club a close look at his ability before bringing him in.
🗞️ Sunderland AFC can confirm that Isaac Allan and Jake Waters have both joined Hebburn on loan, while Dan Cameron has made the loan switch to Boston United.
Best of luck, lads!

Hebburn goalkeeping coach Carl Morris admitted those performances helped convince the club to pursue the deal.
“We are delighted to welcome Isaac to the club. We have been keeping an eye on his progress over the last year and after playing against us twice already this season we have been impressed on both occasions.
“Once again thank you to Sunderland for their assistance and trust with one of their goalkeepers.”
The Manx-born goalkeeper came through the Imps academy system and was regarded as one of the standout young keepers within the youth set-up during his time at Sincil Bank.
He played an important role in one of the academy’s notable successes in recent years, helping the club lift the U17 Floodlit Cup. The victory was seen as a strong reflection of the quality being produced within Lincoln’s youth pathway at the time.
Allan’s development during that period also saw him move closer to the first team environment. While still an academy player, he regularly trained with the senior squad and was even named on the bench for a League One fixture against Bristol Rovers, offering a glimpse of the level he was working towards before his eventual move away from the club.
Last summer, Allan secured a professional contract with Sunderland after impressing during a trial period at the Academy of Light. Since joining the Black Cats, he has featured for the club’s development side while also gaining valuable experience through loan moves across the Northern non-league scene.
Allan has already impressed for his new club – he’s kept goal twice, in wins against Stocksbridge Park Steels and Gainsborough Trinity.
