The Magic Man Signs New Long Term Lincoln City Deal

Jack Moylan has committed his future to Lincoln City by signing a new contract until the summer of 2030, extending his current deal by a further three years.

The attacker has been in excellent form during the 2025/26 campaign, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 23 appearances across all competitions. His performances also saw him nominated for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award for January.

Moylan completed a permanent move from Irish Premier Division side Shelbourne in January 2024 and has since scored 17 goals in 77 appearances for City, despite having two spells out injured.

“I don’t think I need to say too much on this one, as every Imps fan will be delighted by this news,” said sporting director Jez George. “Jack is an infectious character and makes things happen on the pitch, getting supporters off their seats.

“We were the club to give Jack an opportunity two years ago, backing his talent and potential, but what has also always stood out with Jack are his behaviours, his fearlessness, his mentality, his character and his desire to succeed.

“That is what has got him through two big rehabs, with the help of our brilliant medical and sports science team, following two big surgeries and that is what has helped him to unlock his talent and potential, with the help of our brilliant coaching team, on a consistent basis. Jack is the embodiment of our team and securing Jack’s services on a longer contract is so important for us to keep building and developing our squad.”

Jack exploded onto the scene with a virtuoso display against Barnsley at Oakwell in early 2024, scoring a stunning goal and generally scaring their defence whenever he got the ball. He’s always had that touch of magic, but two injuries, one last season and one earlier this campaign, disrupted his progress.

Since regaining fitness, he’s become one of the best players in League One (the best, according to my mate Pete) and is a constant threat on the ball. His vision and creativity make him unpredictable, and he’s become known as the Magic Man after conjuring up moments of magic for Michael Skubala’s side.

Jack Moylan’s View

“I’m absolutely delighted,” said Moylan. “I’ve loved my time at the club, it has been everything I’ve wanted and I’m really excited for the future. This is a special club and it means a lot to me, from the first day I signed I was made to feel welcome by the players, staff and supporters.

“I’ve contributed as much as I can, I’m still as hungry as ever and that will not change. You get rewarded for what you put in and that is my focus. The support from the fans means an awful lot, the atmosphere in the ground is the best in the league in my opinion. The fans are brilliant and I know how much we as players value them.”

This is huge for the Imps. To underline how big, let’s go back to 2020/21, Imps and Blackpool. We lose the play-off final and what happens? Tayo Edun leaves, Brennan Johnson leaves, Morgan Rogers leaves but, probably worst of all, Jorge Grant leaves. Grant was the magic in that team. I know we had future international stars, but Jorge Grant was our player. Sure, we tied him to a new deal, but when we finally got back underway, the team we saw at the Bank was very different from the one we saw on the box.

Now, if the very worst happens and we don’t go up, what team starts next season? Right now, this one. Every player, bar two loans, would be ready and raring to go. The same team that had put together a 19-game unbeaten run. The same team that has brought three Manager of the Month awards to Skubala’s desk. Unless…

Unless a massive offer comes in. Nobody walks away for free. Nobody leaves without someone paying the price, and when it comes to big-ticket items, high-value stock, Jack Moylan is right up there, like the Canada Goose jacket hanging in the department store, outpricing the Barbour and the Belstaff. We’ve got a lot of players worth something, but in Magic Man Moylan we have a potential £1m+ player, all day long.

So, to tie him down to 2030, we’ve put a proper marker down for anyone wanting to buy him. Sure, come and bid. We’ll sell players at the right price, we’ll turn a profit, we’ll let players take the next step up. But with long contracts and happy faces, we’ll do it on our terms, not yours.
