Michael Skubala has been looking forward to this week’s encounter with Huddersfield Town, speaking to Callum Davis of BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
Huddersfield should be the Goliath to our David tomorrow night, but instead, they sit 24 points behind us, with 27 to play for. Finishing above them is a big achievement in itself, and that’s virtually guaranteed.
They’re going to be eager to dent our promotion hopes and strengthen their own grip on the top six. They’ll likely feature Imps old boys Sean Roughan and Lasse Sorensen, with the latter now playing under his fourth Huddersfield manager, with Liam Manning coming in recently
“They’ve changed a bit over the last few games,” Michael said in his pre-match press conference. “They’re very well coached in how they want to play. They’ve conceded fewer goals over the last ten games, but we know they’re a really good outfit at home with big resources like the big clubs in this league.
“They’re really tough to play against at home.”

City haven’t won in the league at Huddersfield since March 1982, although we did steal a win at the McApline in the League Cup a few years ago. This is certainly the best chance for us to break that long run without a league win, by doing what we do best.
“We’re going to have to be front-footed, we’re going to have to be aggressive and we’re going to have to take the game to them,” Michael added.
“That’s what we want to do. I think we’ve earned the right to go and take the game to them. We want to go and challenge and hopefully we can come out with three points.”

Of course, Lasse and Sean are factors for supporters. Both chose Huddersfield, Lasse as part of a big fee and Sean when his contract ran down, but the success they’d hoped for hasn’t come. Both have faced challenges since their moves, dropping out of the side, with Sean coming in for some undue stick recently on social media.
“It feels ages ago now that Lasse and Sean were here, and they’ve obviously had their own challenges trying to get in and out of the team there,” finished Michael.
“We’ve developed a really strong squad here, so it’s not about them. It’s about what we do and how we go about the game, that’s the most important thing.”
City will be backed well in West Yorkshire, with more than 1,500 supporters making the trip, and tickets are still available.
