Championship Roundup: Sheffield Wednesday Plot Striker Move, Birmingham City Line Up New Boss

Blackburn face battle to keep in-demand goalkeeper

Balazs Toth has admitted he is open to taking the next step in his career, leaving Blackburn Rovers with a major decision to make over his future.

The goalkeeper has enjoyed an excellent season, establishing himself as Hungary’s number one and attracting attention as a result. With just one year remaining on his contract, uncertainty is growing around whether Rovers can retain him beyond the summer.

“When I signed for Blackburn, my desire was to show myself, and if I manage to jump the bar, the next step can come,” he said.

“What I hoped for came true, it would be good to step up to the next level, but I don’t know what the future will bring.”

Despite the speculation, Toth’s immediate focus remains on securing the club’s Championship status. With a narrow gap above the relegation zone, Blackburn are not yet safe, and their number one is fully aware that survival must come before any decisions about what comes next.
