Five Premier League 2 Prospects Prime For a Championship Loan Next Season

Ryan McAidoo – (Manchester City)

Ryan McAidoo is an 18-year-old winger at Manchester City who has come through academy systems at Colchester United and Chelsea before joining City in 2024. He featured in the UEFA Youth League after his move and made his senior debut in January 2026, scoring in an FA Cup tie against Exeter City. At international level, he has represented England at U16, U17 and U18 levels, including appearances at the UEFA Under-17 Championship and the FIFA U-17 World Cup, and is also eligible to play for Ghana.

McAidoo’s goal against Exeter announced him on the senior scene, but it was only in November 2025 that he found himself representing England at the Under 17 World Cup. Even his Under 21 minutes have been limited, three outings (two assists) since his Exeter appearance.

Left-footed, he might represent a wildcard pick for a Championship side, and again is known for his pace and trickery, something these top flight younger players tend to have a lot of.
