CB: Andrei Coubis

Minutes, minutes, minutes. Coubis has minutes at right full-back, but long-term, he’s heading for the back three. This is a good chance to get him in the side, and remember, we’re putting out a team to win the game, not just get game time.
They may play Rodriguez at 6ft 4in, or Jebbison at 6ft 3in to get an advantage in set-piece moments, and if they do, we’re going to want some big chunks of meat at the back as well.
CB: Sonny Bradley

With Tom Hamer out, it’s a toss-up between Deji, Sonny and Ryley here. Given Sonny’s need for minutes, I can see him playing 60 and then coming off for one of the others.
Also, it’s that big, nasty thing again. In fairness, all of our defenders have that, but I suspect Ryley and Deji’s minutes recently mean they’ll get the rest, with Sonny sitting in between Coubis and Elder.
CB: Callum Elder

Okay, I gave it away! He was getting on the team bus, so I know he’s travelled, and he’s been excellent when he has played. He’s got a bit of mobility, plenty of experience, and he’ll be a big asset this season.
I like Elder. When he signed, I felt we were getting another 30-something wing-back: not a bad thing at all, but actually he’s proven to be versatile. Sitting on the left of a three, he looked really good, and he’s got the legs of someone ten years younger at times.
