Boston United will host Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round, while Spalding United could also have a home tie as Lincolnshire’s remaining clubs chase a place in the first round proper.
Monday afternoon’s draw paired the Pilgrims with the Iron, giving both sides a county derby to negotiate at the first hurdle of their cup campaigns. National League clubs enter the competition at this stage, with Boston handed home advantage for a tie that guarantees double Lincolnshire representation in the next round. Grimsby will enter in Round One, whereas we’ll not be fussed until 2027.
There is also the possibility of a second county club joining the winners, with Spalding drawn at home to Alvechurch if they can get past Bury Town. The Tulips still have their third qualifying round tie to settle, but now know the reward awaiting them should they progress.
Fourth qualifying round fixtures are scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, 17 October, with the first round proper following on the weekend of Saturday, 7 November. That is when League One and League Two clubs, but not Lincoln for the first time since 1961, join the competition, giving the remaining non-league sides the chance to land an EFL opponent.
Elsewhere in the northern section, Altrincham will host FC United of Manchester, Carlisle United face Tamworth and Bury have been drawn at home to Harrogate Town. In the south, Boreham Wood host Woking, while SE Dons’ run continues with a trip to Sholing.
