Lincoln City v West Ham United: Predicted Hammers Starting XI

RW: Jarrod Bowen

Bowen began his senior career with Hereford United before joining Hull City in 2014. He scored 54 goals in 131 appearances for Hull before West Ham signed him in January 2020.

He scored the winning goal against Fiorentina in the 2023 Europa Conference League final and became West Ham captain in August 2024. An England international since 2022, he also represented his country at Euro 2024.

CAM: Joël Piroe

Piroe developed at PSV and spent a season on loan at Sparta Rotterdam before joining Swansea in 2021. He scored 41 league goals for the Welsh club before moving to Leeds in August 2023.

He won the Championship title and Golden Boot with Leeds in 2024/25, finishing with 19 league goals. Piroe joined West Ham on loan in August 2026 and represents Suriname internationally, having previously played for the Netherlands at youth level.

LW: Manor Solomon

Solomon began with Maccabi Petah Tikva before joining Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2019, winning three Ukrainian league titles. A loan at Fulham followed before Tottenham signed the Israel international permanently in 2023.

During a loan at Leeds, he contributed ten goals and 12 assists to their 2024/25 Championship title win. Further loans at Villarreal and Fiorentina preceded his permanent move to West Ham in August 2026.

ST: Taty Castellanos

Castellanos began his senior career with Universidad de Chile and played for Torque in Uruguay before joining New York City FC. He won the MLS Golden Boot and MLS Cup with the American club in 2021.

A loan at Girona followed, where he scored four goals against Real Madrid in April 2023, before moving to Lazio that summer. The Argentina international joined West Ham in January 2026 on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Predicted West Ham United XI

4-2-3-1: Hermansen; Veltman, Mavropanos, Kilman, Morato; Mukasa, Engels; Bowen, Piroe, Solomon; Castellanos.

There is plenty of experience in that defence and plenty of goals in the careers of the players ahead of it. For us, I think the midfield balance offers something to explore, but we will need to use our possession well enough to make West Ham do some defending of their own.
