No Thanks: Jean Francois-Christophe
I liked the idea of Jean Francois-Christophe, I really did.
Imagine, a big and combative midfielder who could physically dominate the midfield as well as get forward. It’s every manager’s dream, especially in the Blue Square Premier.
He didn’t immediately endear himself to home fans getting sent off in his home debut as we slipped to a defeat against Kettering at Sincil Bank. It was only after Steve Tilson left that we began to see glimpses of the big Frenchman’s potential.
He scored a 22nd minute winner at home to Barrow, and followed it up a few weeks later with a goal against Southport at Sincil Bank. Sadly, he never found the consistency that might have helped as we battled against a slide down the table.
Prior to joining us he played one game for Oldham, coming on as a late sub against Brentford. Six minutes.
