MF: Craig Rocastle
Craig Rocastle was a cousin of the late David Rocastle and he signed to bolster our push for a play-off spot in late 2004. He wasn’t a bad player and he went on to have a good career, but Keith rarely needed central midfielders and when he did, he had Gain and Butcher.
Rocastle’s opportunities were limited to two substitute appearances in a 1-1 home draw with Kidderminster and a 3-0 win at Rochdale. Upon expiry of his loan he returned to Chelsea and ended up spending the next season in the Scottish top flight with Hibernian. We never got to see what he could do but he had a decent career as a cultured, ball-winning midfielder.
