After 15 years of hard work and what seems like a lifetime of experiences, the book ‘Suited and Booted’ was finally unveiled at Sincil Bank last night.
It’s a bit odd writing about it, with it being my book, my launch and my story. However, I was utterly blown away by the superb support shown on the evening, and the passion with which people seem to have taken to the story.
As of this lunchtime, all pre-orders have been despatched, Amazon have been informed it’s time to press ‘go’ and my book is out there; my story is out there.
The night saw around 100 people attend the launch, featuring me chatting about my life as a writer, mental health and the world of a football mascot. Nathan Arnold very kindly came along to offer his insight in the moment that my book came full circle to a proper ending, with my brother Paul acting as compere for the evening. It could have gone spectacularly wrong, but instead it hit the spot.
The book will soon be available to buy on Amazon, I have a handful of copies left for people who want one from me and as for the pre-orders, they’ll be with you before Amazon have a chance to get themselves into gear. What I need now is reviews, spreading the word and a little bit of luck.
Once again, thank you to Lincoln City Football Club for sponsoring the evening, thanks to everyone who came, helped out with the book and offered their support. Thanks to Graham Burrell too, as ever he was on hand to record the event so that I can see some stills after it passed me by in a blur.
