Leo Fortune-West
I’ve written a few times about Leo-Fortune West, and yet here I am again penning something around the towering striker. Not bad really, considering he only scored once for the Imps in nine appearances. He joined us after spells at Stevenage (seven goals in 17) and Gillingham (18 in 67). It took him six games to score for us, but score he did, as we were beaten 4-3 at home by Preston in a game we led 3-1 with 20 minutes left. Sadly, he only played five more games for us before he left for Rotherham United, a move which baffled me at the time, especially as he scored 26 goals in 59 outings for them.
He then moved to Cardiff City, reaching double figures twice for them, before having three years with Doncaster Rovers. He also appeared for Rushden & Diamonds, Torquay United, Shrewsbury Town, Cambridge United, York City, Alfreton Town, North Ferriby United, Goole and finally Armthorpe Welfare.
