12 Out Of Contract Players Who Might Fit Lincoln City

Tom Eaves – Free Agent

Previous Club – Hull City

Position – Striker

Hull City striker Tom Eaves chose not to leave the club last month - The 72

29-year-old Eaves is a goalscorer, although 14 in 97 games for Hull doesn’t sound great. He was a real handful for Gillingham at this level though, with 38 goals in 84 outings between 2017 and 2019. He would add an aerial threat to our attack as he’s six-foot three-inches tall, and he has a ‘proven’ record, as much as one can have.

I also wonder if we need an older head up top, especially if we were to lose Tom Hopper this summer. With Marquis released, there’s a danger of not having know-how in the middle of the attack; you only have to look at Vadaine Oliver’s success with Gillingham, despite playing for York City when they were relegated five years ago. Eaves would be the perfect ‘big lump’, but he’s got pedigree and experience at this level.
