The Imps’ first-round FA Cup tie against Chesham United has been rescheduled to Monday, 4th November, as it has been picked up for live TV coverage on ITV4 as announced by the club’s official media.
Michael Skubala’s men will make the trip to The Meadow for the first time in this competition, with the action set to kick off at 7.15 pm. It’s a rare Monday night slot for the Imps, who will be keen to avoid an upset in front of a nationwide audience. It’s also pertinent to note that we’ve been selected for the FA Cup because we’re the big club, not like when we played Oldham or Ipswich.

If memory serves, the last time we had such an honour bestowed upon us was the game against Northwich Victoria in 2009, after they’d eliminated Charlton in the first round. I may be wrong. I went to that game and, on a personal note, the change might mean I can get to Chesham, as we fly back from Germany the same day.
This fixture is part of an exciting weekend of televised FA Cup action, which will see plenty of lower-league sides looking to make headlines. Oddly, Salford haven’t been selected, but there’s no surprise that both Wrexham and Birmingham have. It seems the Ammies are no longer the headline news they once were!
