Imps Defender Has Broken Foot: Will Miss Tomorrow’s Game

Another Lincoln City defender is out injured, making it three centre halves we’re missing for tomorrow’s game against Manchester City Under 21s.

Along with Tom Hamer and Adam Jackson, Michael Skubala also revealed that MJ Kamara will miss the game. MJ has previously appeared in this competition despite being on loan at Peterborough Sports.

In addition, the Imps will be without two more players for the game, which comes at a challenging time in terms of fitness. As Michael said in his pre-match press conference, there are some long-term injuries to contend with.

“(We have) a few knocks and wounds, but most of them came through, most of them came through Bristol OK, so that’s good news,” confirmed out head coach. “There’s a few managed minutes for Tuesday that we’ve got to look at, a few injuries we know about, so Tom Hamer, Jacko, and the usual ones.”

In addition to that, the Imps will also be missing two players through suspension.

“So people probably don’t know, but Ethan Erhahon and Saxon (Earley) are also suspended for Tuesday through the competition. So we’ve got a few jigsaw puzzles to work out, ready for tomorrow.

“It was touch and go (for Erhahon) for the weekend. He didn’t make it, but it would have been a great game to bring him back, would have been a great game to get some minutes in.

“It would be a great game for Saxon to come back in and support the squad and get some minutes. But again, like the competition rules said, the two yellows suspend them for this one.”

It’s frustrating for Earley, who has played just three times for the Imps during his loan spell from Plymouth. He was booked after coming on for 25 minutes against Chesterfield and booked again during his hour on the field against Grimsby.

We can call our two loan players back from Peterborough Sports, namely Oisin Gallagher and MJ Kamara, but as Michael revealed, only one of those is likely to play any part in the game.

“Oisin’s been great when he’s been in the building with us, so he knows what we’re doing, he knows how we want to play. Whether we play the same way might be different because it’s a different opposition, but he’s great.”

The same cannot be said for MJ Kamara, who made his senior Imps debut in the 2-1 win against Grimsby Town. Kamara was injured on October 21st against Marine, and hasn’t played since.

“He’s got a broken foot, so MJ can’t be involved in this one. But yeah, Oisin’s really ready to go and try and get his opportunity to see what he can do.”

This will be the second meeting between us and Manchester City’s Under 21s. The first time we met was back in November 2020, when Keyendrah Simmonds scored in the final minute to earn them a 1-1 draw, before City won on penalties. Callum Doyle (now with Norwich on loan), Felix Nmecha (Dortmund), Adrian Bernabe (Parma), and Romeo Lavia (Chelsea) all played for the Citizens that evening.
