The first window for season ticket renewals is still open, and I bagged mine yesterday.
This isn’t hugely newsworthy for many, I’m sure, but I wanted to put something out on season tickets, as I haven’t so far. For those who know me, it’s been a really tough few weeks, and I know content has been lacking a bit. I’ve missed the ST renewal window completely, and until last night, it never occurred to me to actually renew, even though I needed to!
I first got a season ticket, of sorts, in 1998 when I signed up to volunteer as Poacher. That meant I had a place in the ground allocated to me, for sellouts it tended to be stood by the DJ booth, but essentially until the 2013/14 season, I was an ever-present.
In November 2013 I moved to Cambridge, coming back in mid-2015. I came back to a job that involved working every Saturday, but when that changed, I grabbed one of Bob’s Final Str8 tickets and have sat in U3, J80 ever since. Lincoln City for me isn’t about coming and watching football, not solely. It’s about the group up there with us, the people I’ve shared the highs and lows with week after week, year after year, who have become friends.
I couldn’t imagine not having that just because we’ve turned in a couple of poor performances.
Anyway, that’s me, and the club are obviously hoping many of you will also get on board. They’re doing a weekly giveaway and the details of that are below.
Just to be clear, the club haven’t asked me to do this piece, I know I’ll get criticism for it, but whatever. After the last couple of weeks away from football, what some of my detractors say about me really is the very least of my worries!
