Ten Best Lincoln City Loan Signings of the EFL Era

Recently, I did a video outlining who I felt had been the worst loan signings of the EFL-era.

They weren’t bad signings at the time, but players who went on to underwhelm. It’s all subjective, of course, and I thought I ought to add some balance. That’s why you’re now reading about the ten best.

Again, there’s a YouTube video which goes into more depth, but if you’re a skim-reader rather than a video watcher, this is for you. It’s the ten loan players who I think have been the best for City since 2017.

#10 – Mark O’Hara (2019)

Brought in to provide midfield cover during the 2018/19 title run-in, Mark O’Hara proved to be a smart January addition. After falling out of favour at Peterborough, the Scotsman arrived at Sincil Bank and quickly cemented himself in the starting XI, offering physicality and calm presence to rival Michael O’Connor and Tom Pett.

He made 14 starts, scoring once — a vital header in a narrow win over Yeovil. His final appearance came on the last day against Colchester, but his job was already done. O’Hara wasn’t flashy, but he was reliable, exactly the kind of short-term loan you need to get over the line.
