From steampunk to outdoor festivals: our guide to a stunning rest of 2025 in Lincoln
With the football season over for another year, now is the time for Lincoln City fans to reflect on the campaign just gone and look forward to what might happen next time out. However, summer can be a time when the lack of regular games can be a real pain for supporters.
The good news is that this doesn’t actually have to be a problem at all. Even if it is a bit quieter on the Imps news front in the next few weeks, for example, there are still lots of breaking stories to stay busy with! People who bet on football games also have a range of other options at top sports betting UK sites until the new season starts.
On top of all this, the sheer amount of cool things to do in Lincoln outside of the game means that fans have plenty of other things to keep them entertained. But just what is in store around the city as we move further into 2025?
Lincoln Castle Summer Concert Series
One awesome event that is coming up fast in 2025 around the city is a series of summer concerts at Lincoln Castle. This is set to bring the best musical talent for locals to listen to and a batch of gigs you cannot miss.
Acts confirmed to play include indie heroes James on 14th June, Scottish rockers Texas on 15th June, pop darlings the Sugababes on 20th June, and reggae legends UB40 Featuring Ali Campbell on 21st June. These concerts will be completely open air and allow people to enjoy their favourite tunes in the summer sun. As the diverse range of acts confirmed shows, there should be something for everyone!
Krazy Races
While catching up on the latest Lincoln transfer news in the off-season is fun, it doesn’t quite match the thrills that Krazy Races delivers. This event is coming back to the city at the end of June in 2025, after a fabulous time in 2024.
Organisers have promised a bigger, better and wilder event this year for fans to enjoy. With this in mind, expect to see a range of handcrafted soapboxes from local teams whizzing down the course. The event is free to attend and attracts a huge crowd who generate a lively atmosphere. Local food vendors and entertainment add to the fun, making this a top event in 2025 to look out for.
Lincoln 1940s Festival 2025
Another top event happening at the city’s castle as we head further into 2025 is the annual 1940s Festival. This is set to take place from 19th to 20th July and admission is free. It promises a range of vintage-inspired acts to watch between 10:00am and 5:00pm each day.
In addition to music from the era, this event will have a classic vehicle display and fun activities to get involved with. It’s the ideal way to soak up the summer sun around Lincoln and enjoy the stunning surroundings of the castle at the same time. It’s also a brilliant day out for the family and the ideal way to go back in time to when life was a little less hectic.
The Asylum Steampunk Festival
Lincoln’s Asylum Steampunk Festival in 2025 will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend and is the ideal way to celebrate the football season kicking off once more. This four-day extravaganza runs from Thursday 21st August to Monday 25th August and will unleash its own unique brand of creativity in the city again.
Billed as the world’s biggest and longest-running steampunk event, it really does bring a whole new dimension to going out in Lincoln. Wandering around the street market, for example, takes you to a new age where our Victorian past mixes with our sci-fi future. Venues around Lincoln, such as the Assembly Rooms, get in on the act each evening and there will be music, films and theatre all based on steampunk to catch.
Lots to stay busy with in Lincoln during 2025
As the above shows, Lincoln has a lot of things going on in the coming months to stay busy with. This is perfect for local football fans who might be dreading just how they’ll fill their time until the new season begins. Of course, even when the new campaign has kicked off, things such as the Lincoln Sausage Festival in October show just what a fabulous place Lincoln is to live.
