Imps Injury Latest: Will Any Of Our Out Of Action Quartet Feature Against Bradford City?

City were without four first-team players this weekend: Adam Reach, Adam Jackson, Dom Jefferies and Jack Moylan.

We know Jack Moylan and Dom Jefferies won’t feature against Bradford City tomorrow night, but in his pre-match press conference, Michael Skubala admitted at least one other player won’t feature.

Adam Jackson has had his fair share of injury problems over the years. He’s currently one of our first-choice centre-backs, but as Michael explained on Imps+ this afternoon, the former Hibernian man won’t make the game this weekend.

“Jacko’s still not ready for selection,” he said when quizzed on the current situation.

As for Adam Reach, his is a possible inclusion for the first league trip to Bradford since 2011. The left back only joined in late August, but has become a key part of the side and was an obvious miss against Leyton Orient.

“Reach has trained today, so we need to see how he reacts,” added Michael. “He could be in contention for tomorrow, so that’s good news.”

Finally, we did get an update on the other two who have been out for the longer term. Dom Jefferies hasn’t played since April, and was last seen angrily heading down the tunnel after being taken off in a game he’s only entered as a sub. Jack Moylan picked up his injury against Harrogate Town in the League Cup, but has since had an operation.

“Dom Jeffries and Jack Moylan are in a similar situation, coming back from long-term injuries and getting closer every day,” Michael concluded.

Bradford City have their own injury worries. Stephen Humphrys, Antoni Sarcevic, Bobby Pointon and Alex Pattison all missed out on the 1-1 draw with Stevenage, while Curtis Tilt, Matthew Pennington, and Aden Baldwin are also expected to miss out. Of those players, four or five would almost certainly be close to starting against the Imps.

Tomorrow is our first league trip to Bradford City since Tuesday, February 11th, 2011. On that occasion, Delroy Facey and Gavin McCallum gave us a 2-1 win, which wasn’t enough to ensure we remained in the Football League.

Tragically, it is our first visit to Valley Parade in the third tier since May 11th, 1985.
