A busy Saturday schedule across the Lincolnshire non-league scene featured four derby fixtures, with strong attendances and plenty of competitive edge.
The early kick-off saw Skegness Town host Boston Town in a lively coastal derby. It was an end-to-end contest, but clear-cut chances were at a premium for both sides. Skegness went closest to breaking the deadlock deep into stoppage time when a free kick struck the post in the 93rd minute. The match ended goalless, a result that still suited Boston, who remain top of the table.
There were goals in the derby between Sleaford Town and Pinchbeck United, where visiting striker Flynn Slater proved decisive. Slater scored a hat trick with finishes in the 17th, 36th and 89th minutes, separating the sides and securing all three Boxing Day points for Pinchbeck.
At Sir Halley Stewart Field, top met bottom as Spalding United welcomed Stamford AFC in front of a crowd of around 1,300. Spalding underlined their status at the summit with a controlled 3-0 victory, never allowing the visitors a route back into the contest. Goals from Yusifu Ceesay (5) and Curtis Thompson (16) in the first half handed them control, with Jack Roberts adding a third five minutes after the break.
The final derby of the day marked a historic occasion, the first ever competitive meeting between Harrowby United and Grantham Town. Kick off was delayed by 15 minutes as a crowd of 1,278 made their way into the ground. In a well-contested affair, Grantham emerged with a 1-0 win thanks to a Cam Johnson goal in the 58th minute, bringing the inaugural fixture between the sides to a close on a positive note.
