Michael Skubala is eager to keep the Imps’ run going tomorrow as we welcome Huddersfield Town to Sincil Bank.
After taking 16 points from the last 18, City are on a roll, but now face a double header against Huddersfield and Peterborough at home. Two massive crowds are hoped for as we seek to sign off from 2025 in style and welcome an extended break.
There are 13 days between the Posh clash and our visit to Kenilworth Road, and with that in mind, Michael is keen to exploit our excellent home form and give us a platform before the rest.
“We’ve been great at home and we want to keep that going, but there’s no doubt in my mind that Huddersfield is a huge test for us,” he said after the win against Barnsley on Monday night.
“We’ve been away twice, and this is their first away game. We’ve got to recover, regenerate and get the energy back into the legs as much as possible. They’ve hit some form recently with some big wins and results, but we fancy ourselves against anybody.”

We’ve already lost to Huddersfield this season, in the EFL Trophy, and having also beaten Barnsley at Oakwell in the competition before the league win, we’re hoping history doesn’t repeat itself again.
Instead, a repeat of the 1-0 win in April would be nice, but whatever the outcome, a City side missing Ben House, Adam Jackson, James Collins, Oscar Thorn and Tom Bayliss will be seeking to bag another eye-catching result.
“We always say we put out a team to win games. It doesn’t matter if it’s Huddersfield or Cardiff, we try and beat everybody put in front of us.
“We know we’ve got two massive games coming up, we want to pick some points up. We want maximum points.”
I think I speak for everyone when I say we want that as well Michael, but the six points from our travels against Stockport and Barnsley have given us the sort of platform where draws wouldn’t be the worst results, especially against the sides fifth and sixth in the League One form table.
