This week is the first time we get to see a Lincoln City player in the Team of the Week for EA FC 26.
It’s not unusual for a City player to feature. Harry Anderson did after his goal against Forest Green a couple of years ago, and Chris Maguire (booo) also featured after his hat-trick at Sunderland. The last Imp to feature was Jovon Makama, less than a year ago, after his three-goal haul against Bristol Rovers.
Brennan Johnson and Jack Diamond have also featured in a Lincoln shirt, but there has never been a Lincoln City defender featured. In fact, the very best right-back card on any version of Ultimate Team since its inception is this season’s Tendayi Darikwa, which was 67-rated. I did an article on it, for your FIFA / EA FC buffs. That has now all changed.
Let me introduce you to the new, 84-rated Tendayi Darikwa Team of the Week card.
π A superb performance and brace at the weekend earns Tendayi Darikwa a spot in @EASPORTSFC TOTW!

The reasons are obvious. Tendayi scored two and assisted once, as well as having a second assist. His lung-busting run late in the game really caught the eye, a man showing boundless energy despite turning in a Man of the Match performance. Outstanding, and so much so, he was named as one of the best full-backs in the division by NTT20 pundit Ali Maxwell yesterday.
Fun fact: I’m addicted to EA FC again (damn you, Laming). The harsh truth is, I am really bad at the game. It has progressed at a rate that has left me behind, but it is great fun playing with Lincoln players. There is a thing called “evo” which allows you to take a 67-rated Darikwa (for instance) and build him up to become the modern-day Cafu.
Which is exactly what Michael Skubala has done in real life, so EA FC really is a simulation.
Seriously, anyone who is on PS5 and might be interested in teaming up for Rush, or helping me assist two more goals in the bronze challenge, my gamertag is gazimp78. I think. Make sure you add a message or something so I know you’re not a scammer out to steal my FIFA points.
