League One Latest: One Out At Leyton Orient, Blackpool Have More Injury Agony

Blackpool hit by season-ending blow

Blackpool have been dealt another injury setback, with midfielder Albie Morgan ruled out for the remainder of the campaign following ankle surgery.

According to the Blackpool Gazette, head coach Ian Evatt confirmed the former Charlton Athletic man required an operation after suffering a setback in his recovery from an injury picked up in the FA Cup against Ipswich Town.

Morgan had initially been expected to return sooner, but a problem flagged in training forced a reassessment. Evatt described it as a huge blow, adding that the club have repeatedly had to navigate significant absences during his tenure.

With up to six players potentially sidelined for their upcoming fixture with Bolton Wanderers, Blackpool’s squad depth is again being tested. At this stage of the season, losing an experienced midfielder for good alters rotation, tactical flexibility and in-game options.

It’s also a blow for us, as we’d quite like them to get something against Bolton!
