League One Latest: Victim Paudie O’Connor Horror Challenge Defended, Rotherham Hold Team Meetings

Rotherham United: Player Talks as Pressure Mounts

Rotherham captain Joe Rafferty has revealed players have held internal meetings in a bid to arrest a slide that has left the Millers 23rd in League One.

Back-to-back defeats have undone recent progress and left Matt Hamshaw’s side entrenched in the drop zone ahead of the derby with Doncaster. Rafferty admitted confidence has taken a hit but insisted belief remains.

“We’ve had meetings between the players to try to iron some things out.

“You don’t want a relegation on your CV. There have been a lot of inconsistencies this season.

“We understand the frustration. Us, as players are the most frustrated people there are.”

With 16 matches remaining, Rafferty believes the derby provides an opportunity to reignite their survival push. In a season defined by swings in momentum, Rotherham now need substance rather than sentiment if they are to climb clear of danger.

  1. Absolute disgrace, I’ve watched this back a dozen or more times and there’s absolutely no doubt that Kenny could have avoided kicking Paudie O”Connor in the face. Red card every day of the week.
