Paternoster Heads Out For Senior Minutes

Luton Town have confirmed that young defender Vlad Paternoster has joined Welling United on a one-month youth loan.

The 19-year-old centre-back, who signed a professional development contract in 2024, has been a regular in the Under-21 side and featured on the bench in the Vertu Trophy this season. He scored in an 8-1 pre-season friendly win over NK Triglav Kranj but is yet to make a competitive senior debut.

Welling, battling relegation from Step 3, will provide a testing environment. For Luton, it is a clear continuation of a pathway that prioritises exposure to senior football in pressured situations.

Short-term youth loans rarely grab headlines, but they are often the foundation of longer-term squad building.
