Match 8
Su 04 Jan 2026 – Peterborough – 5-2 (H)
Sa 09 Feb 2019 – Northampton – 1-1 (H)
Another game, another red in 2019, this time Harry Anderson on 42 minutes. Bruno Andrade gave us the early lead, but Aaron Pierre levelled for the Cobblers, while Lee Angol made a late cameo, one of only two during his second loan with the Imps.
Match eight this season couldn’t have been better. Posh started well, looked really good, and then referee Charles Breakspear got attention, we tweaked the tactics and ran riot.

Match 9
Sa 17 Jan 2026 – Luton – 2-2 (A)
Sa 16 Feb 2019 – Stevenage – 2-2 (H)
Wait, this is all getting a bit spooky. Match nine is another set of 2-2 draws, and another pair of games where we led 2-0. This season, we looked to be coasting against Luton Town, Freddie Draper and Rob Street putting us two up after 22 minutes. By half time it was 2-2, and that is how it stayed.
In 2018/19, all the goals came in the second half, Andrade netting in the 48th and 71st minutes. We looked to be cruising before Ilias Chair came on and scored twice. He could have had a third, as well, but we hung on for a 2-2 draw.

Match 10
Th 22 Jan 2026 – Burton – 2-1 (H)
Sa 23 Feb 2019 – Morecambe – 2-0 (A)
I remember the Morecambe game well. This was the game Dad ordered a breakfast at Wetherspoons, which would have implications. We won 2-0, Andrade with a brace, the sort of functional win that you only remember when forced.
That described Burton this season. 2-1, they levelled immediately after we scored, and we still showed the stones to get over the line. No Wetherspoons this time.

Match 11
Tu 27 Jan 2026 – Bradford – 3-0 (H)
Tu 26 Feb 2019 – Exeter – 1-1 (H)
This was the game Dad ordered drinks on the Wetherspoons app, so happy he learned how to do it, only to find he’d ordered them to be delivered to a table in Morecambe. We left early, needing to beat the traffic, and heard John Akinde’s equaliser as we walked down Sincil Bank.
This year, I was meant to meet Chris beforehand, but he got there late and heard the cheering from the ground as he walked up Sincil Bank. The win was a big moment for City, as it really put Bradford out of the hunt for a top-two spot.
