League One Latest: Cardiff City Seal Player Agreement, Mansfield Town Cup Exploits Take Blame

Calderwood Leading Northampton’s Manager Search

Northampton Town technical director Colin Calderwood says discussions are ongoing as the club search for a new manager following Kevin Nolan’s departure, according to the Northampton Chronicle.

Calderwood is currently working with chairman Kelvin Thomas and chief executive James Whiting to identify the next head coach.

While he admitted he has his own views on the profile required, the former Scotland international stressed that the decision will ultimately be a shared one.

“I have my own ideas about it and that’s part of my role – you have to put your viewpoint across,” Calderwood said.

“Between what I think and what they think, we have to come to an agreement. It’ll be a consensus between everyone.”

The technical director also indicated that the club are keen to appoint someone who fits their wider structure, including the development of academy players.

“We’re running the academy as well and we want something that helps the academy and allows players to come through.”

For now, Calderwood’s immediate focus remains on the pitch as Northampton prepare for their upcoming League One trip to Stockport County.
