Cardiff City Secure Rubin Colwill Until 2030

Cardiff City have tied down one of their most important players after Rubin Colwill signed a new long-term deal until the summer of 2030, as reported by Wales Online.

The 23-year-old playmaker has become a key figure for the Bluebirds since emerging from their academy setup, making more than 180 appearances since breaking into the first team in 2021. Even after missing three months with injury this season, Colwill has still made a significant impact, scoring seven goals and registering six assists.

In recent weeks he has been particularly influential, scoring three goals in his last two matches as Cardiff continue to push near the top end of the League One table.

“I’m very happy to get this sorted,” said Colwill. “This is my club and it’s the only place I’ve wanted to be since I was nine.

“I’m extremely proud to be wearing this shirt and I’ll give everything I can to get us back to where we belong.”

Cardiff boss Brian Barry-Murphy also underlined the importance of keeping the midfielder at the club long term.

“Rubin is a very important player for us,” said Barry-Murphy. “He understands the club so well and to see him commit his future here is very exciting for me.”
