The Imps have dropped a new date for the fixture with Doncaster Rovers as a fourth player was added to their side’s international squad.
City’s trip to Doncaster Rovers will now be played on Tuesday, 21 April (7.45 pm KO), between the trip to Stevenage and the game against Wycombe at home.
The fixture at the Eco-Power Stadium was originally scheduled for next Saturday, but was postponed due to call-ups to Ivan Varfolomeev, Ryan Oné and Kamil Conteh. For reference, tickets for the fixture will remain valid for the rearranged date, as will official coach travel.
In the official club announcement, it was also mentioned that Reeco Hackett has been called up by St Lucia for their upcoming FIFA Series 2026 fixtures. They face Azerbaijan in the competition, and the winner of that fixture will face either Oman or Sierra Leone, with the two losers playing as well.
It means there is a real prospect of Hackett facing Kamil Conteh, which mirrors the potential earlier this season for Dexter Lembikisa to face Justin Obikwu. That didn’t happen after the latter was dropped by Trinidad and Tobago.
It also means the earliest City could feasibly be promoted would be the Easter weekend, as we currently sit 15 points clear of Bolton Wanderers, with eight matches to play. If we match their results against Port Vale, Plymouth and Bolton in our games against Rotherham, Wimbledon and Reading, we could be resurrected (in terms of second-tier football) on Easter Monday.
