Michael Skubala has confirmed that Adam Reach will miss the end of the season, but the injury isn’t as bad as first thought.
Reach has been instrumental in our push up the table, with goals and assists, but he went down in the 2-2 draw at Huddersfield with nobody close by. The moment almost let the Terriers in, but in the end, it had a silver lining, as substitute Ryley Towler came on and bagged our late leveller.
With just seven games left, the term ‘season ending’ probably doesn’t mean injuries are quite as serious as those labelled the same way in December. Still, this one is season-ending for the former Middlesbrough man.
“He’s going to miss the end of the season, unfortunately,” Michael confirmed in his pre-match interview.
“I think everybody hoped that wouldn’t be the case, but it’s looking that way. I don’t think we’ll see him before the end of the season.”
While his season is over, the severity of the injury isn’t quite as bad as first feared. When a player goes down, nobody near him, it often means a long spell out, but it sounds like that’s not the case with Reach.

“Fortunately for us, I don’t think it’s as major as we first thought, or what the medical staff first thought, but he’s definitely gutted to be missing the last chapter of the season,” added Michael.
“He’s been great for us throughout this season. He’s been absolutely excellent. So, it’s gutting for him, because he wanted to end it on a on a good note in terms of the season.”
There were also updates on a number of our other absentees. Four Imps players are currently ruled out through injury, and Michael confirmed they’re all working hard.
“Everybody else is as is,” he finished. “Freddie is still working hard to try to get back. Jacko’s still working hard to get back.
“James Collins is still doing lots on his rehab. Josh Honohan is on the grass, but not fully with the team training.”
Freddie Draper’s injury, sustained during the 4-0 win against Northampton, has never really had a timescale put on it, while centre back Adam Jackson has been out of action since our 2-0 EFL Trophy win at Barnsley.
Josh Honohan is the interesting one; he seems to have been out for a little longer than first suggested. However, there is no need to rush him back right now, and as he’s not fully training with the team, one would imagine we are protecting our investment, and potentially, we may not see him much before the end of the campaign.
