The race for the League One Golden Boot is on, and the Lincoln City Golden Boot, but what of the goal involvement trophy?
It’s not a real thing, but in this day and age, assists are right up there with goals, and to be both a creator and finisher makes you utterly invaluable.
Jack Moylan and Reeco Hackett are tied on 11 goals each, while Rob Street will be hoping for a brace to take him to the same tally next weekend. He’ll be frustrated not to have moved onto ten in midweek against Doncaster, both with the missed penalty and the one off the inside of the post.
In terms of creativity, George Wickens got his fourth assist of the season yesterday, moving him to seventh in terms of chances created, which others have finished. However, what if you add the two tables together? Which Lincoln City players have the most goals and assists combined?
Find out below!
3rd – Rob Street 13

Rob Street again, olé olé. He’s had a knack for getting those important goals, such as away at Stockport and Stevenage, plus that memorable strike against Cardiff City. He’s also chipped in with some assists, including one at Doncaster in midweek for Ben House’s second goal.
His expected goals and assists figure is 14, one fewer than he has, but that is all about a single missed penalty. Had he netted on Tuesday night, he would be performing bang on expectation.
In fairness, Rob has had a great season, having played out wide and, more recently, as a nine. He’s come in for some tough encounters against challenging defenders, but has never been found wanting for effort, and as his haul of 13 involvements shows, he’s a threat around the box as well.
2nd – Jack Moylan 16

The Magic Man has been conjuring tricks all season, and even two months out couldn’t stop him from darting to second in this table. He creates, and he scores, and more often than not, they’re goals that get you out of your seat. Yesterday was no exception, nutmegging a defender, winding into the box before blinding the keeper with a thunderbolt he never saw coming.
He has no penalty goals, so his 16 is all about open play, and with expected goals and assists of 11.8, he’s hugely outperforming his expected numbers. That’s because the shots are often edge-of-the-seat stuff, unbelievable efforts, or coming after long, mazy runs that most players just wouldn’t attempt.
1st – Reeco Hackett 18

Let’s put some respect on Reeco Hackett’s name, because while the Magic Man has earned plaudits, and the lads across the back have been solid, Hackett has had a sensational season. He must have been up there for Player of the Season, and when he’s been good, he’s been very, very good indeed.
He has created seven and scored ten against an expected figure of 13.4, coming up with unlikely goals (yesterday’s had an xG of below 0.1) and neat finishes. He’s been a constant figure and sits between the veterans and youngsters. He’s a seasoned pro, probably at his peak, and he’s shown remarkable character to focus this season.
He’s got a penalty goal, yesterday, but has been outstanding in League One this season.

There is something really special about this table, because it shows virtually all players have had a hand in a goal at some stage or another. Erik Ring has the most goal involvements outside of league action with four, while Rob Street has three more, which is quite impressive as he’s proven to be adept both in and out of the league starting XI.
Even Dexter Lembikisa has an assist outside ouf the league, creating a goal for Ring in the EFL Trophy.
