League One has reached the end of its regular season, meaning we have one final look at the campaign on The Stacey West’s League One Show.
Firstly, to the battle for the final play-off places, where the fight for the sixth position went down to the final minutes. Stevenage ultimately took that place, thanks to a stoppage-time winner. Charlie and Kyle talk through minute one to 90, and how the dramatic conclusion was reached, also discussing events in the games involving Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle.
Unfortunately, for the neutral at least, the relegation battle didn’t quite reach the same heights. Exeter City needed three points to give themselves a chance of staying up, but lost against Bradford City. We talk about the turning points in the Grecians season, and how Leyton Orient survived, touching on the strong post-match comments from O’s boss Richie Wellens.
Finally, there’s a look at the other talking points from the weekend’s action. There was a nine-goal thriller at the One Call Stadium, while an EFL veteran scored a hat-trick on his final appearance for his current club.
Don’t worry, we will be back for a midweek episode to preview the first leg of the League One play-offs!
