Lincoln City Retained List Announced: Two Offered New Deals

The wait for the Lincoln City retained list is usually one full of suspense and expectation, but not this season. Why? Because everyone is under contract.

That’s right, almost every player who appeared for us this season is under contract for next season. That has meant this article will likely get under 1,000 views, because what is there to read? Literally, the biggest news is that we have offered two contracts, and one of the players out of contract is under the age of 24, so we’ll get compensation if he leaves.

The headline is confirmation that discussions remain ongoing with MJ Kamson-Kamara and Jamie Pardington, both of whom are out of contract this summer. Because MJ is under 24, City would be entitled to a domestic compensation fee should he reject the offer on the table and move elsewhere. That suggests the club still clearly values his potential, even if he has yet to properly break into the senior picture. Hearts are thought to be watching closely, and we might yet see MJ playing Champions League next season!

There is also confirmation that all three January loan additions, Kamil Conteh, Alfie Lloyd and Ryan Oné, will return to their parent clubs after helping the Imps secure a place in the Championship. Lloyd felt like a player City supporters quickly warmed to, while Oné added goals and pace to the forward line at a crucial moment. Let’s not forget he gave us the lead in that crucial game against Reading, and got the late, late winner against Wimbledon to set up our day in Berkshire.
