Lincoln City Players Whose Talent Was Lost To Injury After Moving On

In 2023/24, Lukas Jensen was given the Imps’ Player of the Season. He’d been a mammoth in goal during the tough handover from Kennedy to Skubala, and our strategy of switching from loan keepers to our own keepers seemingly paid off.

He was watched by Millwall, and they swept us off our feet with a £500,000 move for the Dane. Rightly, we didn’t stand in his way, and off he went to the bright lights of the Championship.

At first, he was a sensation, keeping 15 clean sheets in 41 matches. It looked like we’d be getting a nice sell-on as his name started popping up in regard to Premier League interest, but then disaster struck. In April 2025, he did his ACL, and he hasn’t played since.

Max Crocombe took his place, and more recently, Anthony Patterson on loan from Sunderland, but Jensen’s return has taken time. He was back in training, but has had a setback with a quad injury, prolonging his recovery even further. It’s now been 13 months since he played, and his post-Lincoln career has taken a bit of a battering.

  1. I missed the Tony James days because I was working abroad, which from a supporters view point is disappointing. As for the rest I’m glad I’ve been a part of.
