Lincoln City attacker Jack Moylan has been named on the six-man shortlist for the PFA League One Players’ Player of the Year after a superb 2025/26 campaign in red and white.
The Irish forward was a constant spark as the Imps powered to the League One title, delivering 11 goals and six assists from 31 league appearances. That output looks even better set against a three‑month injury layoff: Moylan found form on either side of the setback and came up big in key moments as City pulled clear.
Peer recognition matters with this award, and the company he keeps underlines the standard across the division. At Bolton Wanderers, Amario Cozier-Duberry’s impact was one of the season’s running stories, his direct running from the right and neat close control turning tight games in the Trotters’ favour. Dom Ballard led the Leyton Orient line with the sort of penalty‑area instinct that belies his age, timing runs across defenders and finishing cleanly off minimal touches as he’s stepped up to senior football.
Experience tells, too. David McGoldrick has brought guile and composure to Barnsley, dropping between the lines to link play and adding a steady trickle of goals that have been a high point in the Tykes’ below-average season. Over at Stockport County, Kyle Wootton has been the classic focal point, making set‑pieces and crosses count, occupying centre-halves and creating space for runners around him while chipping in with important strikes of his own. On the same side, Oliver Norwood’s passing range and dead‑ball craft have kept the Hatters ticking, switching play to stretch opponents and dictating tempo in a role that rarely grabs headlines but often decides matches.
It’s a strong shortlist, and given that Jack missed two months of the season, it’s a huge testament to the impact he had. After an injury-hit 2024/25, he’s blossomed this season into the player who exploded onto the scene against Barnsley back in spring 2024. Whether drifting in off the flank or operating centrally, his blend of direct running, tidy combinations and calm finishing has made him a nightmare assignment for League One defences, and a driving force behind our record-breaking title win.

The winners will be revealed on 25 August at The PFA Awards ceremony, when the new season is well underway. I’m not sure what it is with these awards, either during the campaign or during the next one! Whatever the outcome, this nod is deserved recognition for a season in which Moylan helped carry City over the line.
