Jamie Pardington has signed a contract with Lincoln City until the summer of 2028, agreeing to be the Imps ‘number three’ in the Championship.
Pardington joined the Imps in the summer of 2024 and made his debut against Manchester City U21 in the Vertu Trophy that season.
He came through the youth ranks at Wolverhampton Wanderers after initially developing with Rushall Olympic. During his time at Wolves, he gained senior experience through loan spells with Bath City, Stratford Town, Dulwich Hamlet and Mansfield Town before leaving the club in 2022.
He went on to have short spells with Grimsby Town and Larne, making his senior debut for the Northern Irish side, before returning to England with Cheltenham Town. After a loan spell at Truro City, he joined City in June 2024 and has since continued his development with loan moves to Peterborough Sports, AFC Telford United, Oxford City and Kidderminster Harriers.
“We are delighted that Jamie has signed a new contract to be our No.3 goalkeeper next season,” said Jez George. “We highlighted publicly at the end of last season what a crucial contribution Jamie made in this role for the goalkeeping unit and the wider squad on the training pitch every day.
“It requires a certain type of selfless character and that sums up Jamie. He is hugely respected and valued within the football department and while Jamie could have left to pursue playing opportunities in non-league or to be a No.2 for a club in League One or League Two, we are really pleased that he has decided to stay.”
Jamie won the Unsung Hero award at the end of last season, and the wording of the statement is really interesting. In saying he’ll be our number three next season, does Jez mean Zach Jeacock is the number two, or does it mean we’ll be bringing in a number two to Wickens over the summer?
Either way, it’s nice to see Jamie having committed, and perhaps if we do bring in a second keeper, he’ll get some minutes out on loan as the season progresses.
