Former Lincoln City and Sheffield United Man Joins Local Side As Rebuild Continues

Former Lincoln City loan midfielder Kieran Wallace has signed for Stamford AFC as part of their summer rebuild.

The 31-year-old, who had a short loan spell with the Imps during the 2014/15 season, has joined the Daniels ahead of their Southern League Premier Division Central campaign.

Former Imp Joins Stamford

Wallace was brought to Sincil Bank by Chris Moyses in the closing stages of the 2014/15 season, arriving on loan from Sheffield United as City looked to strengthen their squad for the run-in.

His time with the Imps was brief, with the midfielder making six league appearances before returning to Bramall Lane at the end of his loan spell. Although he did not have long to make an impact in Lincoln colours,

Since then, he has built up considerable experience across the EFL and non-league game. Having started his career with Nottingham Forest, Wallace went on to represent Sheffield United, Burton Albion, Mansfield Town and Hartlepool United, while also having spells with Tamworth, Peterborough Sports and Alfreton Town.

Wallace joins a Daniels side that has already added striker Tyler Winters, playmaker Sam Bayly and goalkeeper Adam Harrison, while Jon Challinor has agreed to remain with the club in a player-coach role.

“Kieran is a quality player, and he’s ready to bring his skill, leadership, and experience to Stamford, and I can’t wait to see him in action,” said boss Ant Fenton.

Experience Added To New-Look Daniels Squad

Fenton has been busy following the departure of several members of last season’s squad. A number of players have followed former boss Graham Drury to Peterborough Sports, including Leon Lobjoit, Jordon Cooke, Jack Keeble, George Hobbins, Joe Burgess and goalkeeper Tom Jackson.

There have been other exits too, with Harry Vince, Kai Sanchez-Tonge, Jake Duffy, Oran Jackson, Michael Frew and Ryan Wilson all moving on. That has left Stamford needing to rebuild quickly ahead of the new campaign, and Wallace’s arrival adds senior experience to the middle of the pitch.
